Volleyball Recap: Hinsdale South's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hinsdale South had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the York Dukes. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Dukes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Hinsdale South who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 19-25, 25-18.

Despite the loss, York still got an impressive performance from Ben Wede, who had 23 digs.

Hinsdale South pushed their record up to 19-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for York, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-10 record this season.

Hinsdale South and York should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Hornets (ranked 42nd) will meet Addison Trail (ranked 128th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, York will challenge Chicago Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (20 vs. 121).
