Basketball Recap: Triangle Math & Science Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Triangle Math & Science suffered their closest loss since December 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions by a score of 57-54. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flying Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Despite the loss, Triangle Math & Science still got an impressive performance from Jailen Hawkins, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Hawkins is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ahish Pidikiti, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Tyler Hill had an outrageously good game for Excelsior Classical Academy as he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance also gave Hill a new career-high in blocks (eight). Shawn Francis-Service was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Triangle Math & Science now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Triangle Math & Science will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Eno River Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 55.4 points per game this season. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-61 win against Emerson Waldorf on the 20th.
