Basketball Game Preview: Madison Blue Streaks vs. Mayfield Wildcats

The Madison Blue Streaks will head out on the road to challenge the Mayfield Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Madison knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mayfield likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, Madison earned a 60-53 win over Jefferson Area.

Meanwhile, Mayfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 45-34 to Kenston.

Madison's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Mayfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Madison came out on top in a nail-biter against Mayfield when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 44-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
