Baseball Game Preview: Oak Park-River Forest Huskies vs. Hinsdale Central Red Devils

The Oak Park-River Forest Huskies will face off against the Hinsdale Central Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Park-River Forest's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Hinsdale Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Oak Park-River Forest made easy work of Hinsdale South and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Huskies have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Hinsdale Central sidestepped Addison Trail for a 4-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Blazers: they've now won five in a row.

Oak Park-River Forest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Hinsdale Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

Oak Park-River Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Hinsdale Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 13-12. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
