Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Friendship Collegiate Academy faced Friendship Tech Prep Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Friendship Collegiate Academy had to suffer through a rough 68-23 loss at the hands of Friendship Tech Prep Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Friendship Collegiate Academy has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Parkside pushed their score all the way to 75 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 95-75 loss at the hands of St. Albans. Parkside has struggled against St. Albans recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Parkside had strong showings from Kasson James, who scored 24 points, and Semaj Marshall, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daiquan Smith, who scored nine points.

Friendship Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Parkside, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Friendship Collegiate Academy came up short against Parkside in their previous matchup on January 4th, falling 65-60.
