Softball Recap: Delaware Valley Comes Up Short

Delaware Valley extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 10-9 in the process. They lost 14-1 to the North Pocono Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Cecelia Dickerson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for North Pocono, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.

On North Pocono's side, Ellie Ambrosecchia was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Mikhayla Murphy was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Delaware Valley has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Crestwood on the 19th. North Pocono has also already played their next matchup (against Lake-Lehman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
