Softball Recap: Lynn Camp Takes a Loss

Lynn Camp had lost six straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-13 to make it seven. They came up short against the Pineville Mountain Lions, falling 11-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountain Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Pineville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6-1. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Pineville's part, Rayanna Maidon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Maidon has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Caldwell, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Lynn Camp will face off against Knox Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pineville has already played their next match (against Leslie County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
