Geneseo dropped down to 16-9 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers by a score of 2-1. The Maple Leafs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for LaSalle-Peru, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 23rd.

Leading LaSalle-Peru to victory were Aubrey Urbanski and Emma Jereb. Urbanski had 14 assists and eight digs, while Jereb had 14 assists and four digs. Those 14 assists gave Urbanski a new career-high.

Geneseo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Illinois Valley Central on the 18th. As for LaSalle-Peru, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Richwoods on the 18th.
