Valley View proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Delaware Valley Warriors 8-6. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 11-5 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Kevin Essig was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
