Basketball Game Preview: Glenbrook North Spartans vs. New Trier Trevians

The Glenbrook North Spartans will square off against the New Trier Trevians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenbrook North is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Saturday, Glenbrook North didn't have too much trouble with Crystal Lake Central as they won 42-28. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Tigers are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, New Trier suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2024 on Saturday. 2025 welcomed they with a 54-33 loss courtesy of Saint Ignatius College Prep. The Trevians haven't had much luck with the Wolfpack recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Glenbrook North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for New Trier, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Glenbrook North beat New Trier 54-45 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Glenbrook North repeat their success, or does New Trier have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
