Basketball Recap: Louisa County Comes Up Short

Louisa County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 77-34 defeat at the hands of the Charlottesville Black Knights. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-18.

Despite the loss, Louisa County still got an impressive performance from Taylor Yeatts, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Yeatts is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Harlee Lowe was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Louisa County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Louisa County's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Charlottesville, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Monticello the next time they take the court. Charlottesville will host Monticello at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Louisa County will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
