Softball Recap: Eastern Wayne Warriors vs. North Johnston Panthers
After flying high against Beddingfield last Tuesday, Eastern Wayne came back down to earth. Eastern Wayne fell just short of the North Johnston Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Mallory Reed was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Arianna Harvey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.
