Volleyball Game Preview: River City Raiders vs. Wood Wildcats

The River City Raiders will face off against the Wood Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. River City will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

River City had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Sacramento on Monday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Dragons.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant River City was: they took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-9, 25-8.

Sabrina Price and Jessica Criswell were among the main playmakers for River City as the former had five aces and the latter had four digs and one assist. That's the most digs Criswell has posted over her last two games.

Meanwhile, Wood lost 3-0 to Pioneer on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-5, 25-9.

Wood's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for River City, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Everything went River City's way against Wood when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as River City made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
