Soccer Recap: Hersey Triumphs

While Hersey's win against Elgin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Maroons on Wednesday. Given Hersey's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Elgin are ranked 47th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hersey's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Hersey didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against St. Charles East on the 6th. As for Elgin, they have also already played their next contest, a 1-0 loss against Leyden on the 6th.
