Volleyball Recap: Winamac Warriors vs. Rochester Zebras
After flying high against Argos on Tuesday, Winamac came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Rochester Zebras on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Zebras from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
While Winamac ultimately came up short, they really made Rochester work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-10, 27-25.
Brooke Rausch paced Winamac's offense, picking up seven kills. Rausch got some help from Abby Keller and her 19 assists. Keller also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Grace Roth, each putting up two.
Logyn Honkomp was the offensive standout of the match as she had 15 digs and one assist. She has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Winamac dropped their record down to 5-18 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Rochester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.
Winamac has already played their next matchup (against Attica), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Rochester, they will host Tippecanoe Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
