Basketball Preview: Canastota Red Raiders vs. Adirondack Wildcats
Canastota is 2-8 against the Wildcats since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Canastota Red Raiders' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Adirondack Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on February 5th. Adirondack took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Canastota, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Canastota's game was all tied up 11-11 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They were the clear victor by a 46-25 margin over Solvay.
Meanwhile, Adirondack's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in January after their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-29 loss at the hands of Holland Patent. Adirondack was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.
Canastota's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Adirondack, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
Canastota barely slipped by the Wildcats when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 38-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canastota since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
