Basketball Recap: Palisades Piles Up the Points Against Ballantyne Ridge

Palisades won the last time they faced Ballantyne Ridge and things went their way on Friday too. The Palisades Pumas simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves 55-8. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palisades to victory, but perhaps none more so than Estelle Macho, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 15 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Macho is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Tynilla Simpkins, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 11 points and seven steals.

Palisades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Palisades' victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Looking ahead, Palisades will square off against Ardrey Kell at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-19 defeat against South Mecklenburg on the 11th.
