Recap: Reservoir 'Gators vs. Mt. Hebron Vikings
The Reservoir 'Gators won against the Mt. Hebron Vikings last Thursday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Reservoir snuck past Mt. Hebron with a 28-24 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Reservoir.
Jordan Tate was on fire: he rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Mt. Hebron's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Coleman Hallums, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Hallums was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 68 yards. Tobie Lewis was another key contributor, rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Reservoir's win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points per game. As for Mt. Hebron, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reservoir will take on Severna Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Hebron will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Oxon Hill at 6:00 p.m. on November 10th. Oxon Hill is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
