Football Recap: Ray Hoffmann and Ansen Asbjornsen Secure Win for Squalicum + How To Watch

Squalicum proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 49) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Anacortes Seahawks 24-21. The win was all the more spectacular given the Storm's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Seahawks are ranked sixth).

Squalicum's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Ansen Asbjornsen and Ray Hoffmann. Asbjornsen picked up 153 receiving yards and two scores while Hoffmann threw for 263 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 74.2% of his passes. With that strong performance, Asbjornsen is now averaging an impressive 100.5 receiving yards per game.

Anacortes lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zeke Hawkins, who picked up 157 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Ryan Harrington, who threw for 264 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt.

Squalicum now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Anacortes, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.

Coming up, Squalicum will square off against Lynden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Anacortes, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Archbishop Murphy at 7:00 p.m. The Seahawks will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
