Basketball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Woodland lost against Fredericktown back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Woodland Cardinals fell 59-50 to the Fredericktown Black Cats. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pj Reutzel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fredericktown, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Reutzel has scored at least a third of Fredericktown's points. Amelia Miller was another key player, putting up four points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Fredericktown, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.

Woodland and Fredericktown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Woodland (ranked 170th) will meet Meadow Heights (ranked 448th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Fredericktown will face off against Perryville at 7:30 p.m. on February 17th up 151 places (118 vs. 269).
