Basketball Game Preview: Spanish Fork Dons vs. Park City Miners

The Spanish Fork Dons will challenge the Park City Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Spanish Fork came up short against Farmington and fell 68-58. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spanish Fork's loss came about despite a quality game from Gage Christensen, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The contest was Christensen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Hernandez, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Park City). They came out on top against Union by a score of 76-68 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Miners as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Spanish Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Park City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Spanish Fork took their win against Park City in their previous meeting back in February of 2021 by a conclusive 73-50. Does Spanish Fork have another victory up their sleeve, or will Park City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
