Basketball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe Comes Up Short

Johnstown-Monroe lost against Heath back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies fell just short of the Heath Bulldogs by a score of 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Johnnies have suffered against the Bulldogs since January 21, 2021.

Jaxon Duston was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals for Heath. That's the most points Duston has posted since back in January. Jordan Kaminsky was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Johnstown-Monroe now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Heath, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Johnstown-Monroe will be playing in front of their home fans against Licking Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Licking Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Johnstown-Monroe surely won't give up without a fight. As for Heath, they will venture away from home to face off against Lakewood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
