Recap: Concord Academy Eagles vs. Westminster Catawba Christian Indians
The Concord Academy Eagles can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They breezed by Westminster Catawba Christian on the road to the tune of 80-18. The win was familiar territory for Concord Academy who now have five in a row.
Justice Alexander continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with seven steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Samantha Meyers was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Westminster Catawba Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Concord Academy racked up 19 assists.
Concord Academy pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face SouthLake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. SouthLake Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Concord Academy is ranked 40th). As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Metrolina Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Friday.
