North Broward Prep had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They won by a run and slipped past the Westminster Christian Warriors 5-4. Winning may never get old, but North Broward Prep sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Mateo Gray was incredible, going 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBI.
On Westminster Christian's side, they got a good showing from Austin Wiegandt, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wiegandt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Ethan Puig made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Marin, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
