Baseball Recap: Poplar Bluff Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ellington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poplar Bluff). They never let the Ellington Whippets get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Mules, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Poplar Bluff got a big performance out of Kade Huffman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Huffman also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Bryce Dobbs was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Poplar Bluff hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Poplar Bluff now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Ellington, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Poplar Bluff will head out to square off against Sikeston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ellington, they will take on Potosi at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
