Taylor had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lafayette County Cougars a 28-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Taylor's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Lafayette County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, Taylor and Lafayette County will both be playing Columbia Christian the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
