Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Marshall's Winning Streak + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marshall can now relate to. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 21-7 to the Huntsville Hornets. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Mavericks couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why Marshall lost, don't look at Denijh Montgomery. Despite the final result, he rushed for 159 yards.

Huntsville found their leader in sophomore Zarien Adolphe, who rushed for 141 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries, and also threw for 100 yards on six of 11 attempts. Adolphe has become a key player for the Hornets: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.

With the loss, Marshall broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3. As for Huntsville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Huntsville, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 41-14 defeat against Terrell on the 21st.
