Baseball Recap: Valley Christian's Loss Ends 25-Game Winning Streak at Home

Valley Christian is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Libertyville. Valley Christian fell just short of Libertyville by a score of 2-1. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Valley Christian got a good showing from Ty Pasisich, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pasisich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Valley Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Danzeisen, who went 3-for-4 with one double. Berkeley Kaiser also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Valley Christian's loss ended a 25-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2. As for Libertyville, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Christian will venture away from home to take on Seton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Libertyville, they will head out to square off against Valley Vista at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Libertyville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Valley Vista has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
