Basketball Recap: Waskom Comes Up Short

Waskom lost against Beckville back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Waskom Wildcats fell 67-55 to the Beckville Bearcats. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 970th, while the Bearcats are ranked 418th).

Waskom has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Beckville, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Waskom will venture away from home to take on Garrison at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beckville, they will welcome Timpson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Beckville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
