            Softball Recap: Hackensack Comets vs. West Orange Mountaineers        
        
		
        
        
            Hackensack won the last time they faced West Orange and things went their way  on Saturday too. The Comets walked away with  a   10-7  win over the Mountaineers.
 Amerie Amparo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and six unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Briana Darling, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and four  runs. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Janae Neal, who  went 4-for-5 with five  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hackensack  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 23  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.

Hackensack's victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 6-13. As for West Orange, their loss was  their fifth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 11-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackensack will welcome Paramus  at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. As for West Orange, they will be playing at home against East Side  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Mountaineers are facing the Red Raiders at the right time seeing as the Red Raiders are stuck on  a  nine-game losing streak.
