Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Houston's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Houston's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Jackson Center Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Makenna Vondenhuevel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Jackson Center, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
