Football Recap: Flagstaff Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Flagstaff extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took a blow against the Mohave Thunderbirds, falling 60-7. Surprisingly, this marked the Eagles' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

When it comes to explaining why Flagstaff lost, don't look at Will Carpenter. Despite the final result, he picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown. Carpenter's longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards.

As for Mohave, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2. That 53 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Joe Yoney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 279 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 91 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Nathaniel Villarreal was Yoney's top target, picking up 94 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flagstaff will take on Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Badgers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mohave, they will face off against Mingus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
