Volleyball Recap: Dos Palos Comes Up Short

Dos Palos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Avenal Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Wednesday.

Dos Palos started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Dos Palos' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Avenal, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Dos Palos will challenge Pacheco at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avenal, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Washington Union on the 23rd.
