Basketball Game Preview: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats

The Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Edgewood Academy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Macon-East Montgomery Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Macon-East Montgomery Academy against Lakeside School as the team secured a 58-24 win. The contest marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy can attribute much of their success to Miya Tatum, who went 9 for 17 on her way to 26 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards, and Jamiyah Powell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Powell is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edgewood Academy). They managed a 54-49 win over Sparta Academy on Monday.

Macon-East Montgomery Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3. As for Edgewood Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
