Softball Recap: Eunice Comes Up Short

Eunice had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 9-9 to make it four. They came up short against the Loving Falcons, falling 20-2. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 7-0 defeat on Saturday.

Eunice saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Melanie Nieto, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for Loving, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Loving's side, they got a massive performance out of Abbigail Nieto, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits Nieto has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adryanna Nieto, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Eunice wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-7 loss against Jal on the 22nd. As for Loving, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 28-0 victory against Dora on the 22nd.
