Basketball Recap: La Lumiere Comes Up Short

La Lumiere was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Bend Adams Eagles. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lakers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Eagles are ranked 103rd).

South Bend Adams' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lemonz Jones, who posted 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jarvis Tolbert, who earned 20 points.

La Lumiere's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for South Bend Adams, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-6.

La Lumiere has already played their next game, a 90-55 win against East Chicago Central on the 27th. As for South Bend Adams, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Penn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Bend Adams is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season.
