Basketball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson suffered their closest loss since December 17, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Shepherd Mustangs by a score of 49-47. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Tyler Frydenlund, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Johnny Quigley, who posted ten points.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Shepherd, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will venture away from home to square off against Manhattan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shepherd, they will head out to challenge Huntley Project at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
