Basketball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 66-30 loss at the hands of the Wirt County Tigers. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.

Despite the loss, Calhoun still got an impressive performance from Baron Davis, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Cooper Morris, who posted seven points.

Wirt County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Smith led the charge by going 6-for-14 to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Wyer, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 10 points along with six boards and three steals.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Wirt County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Calhoun has already played their next matchup, a 66-28 loss against South Harrison on the 12th. As for Wirt County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-46 defeat against Magnolia on the 13th.
