Softball Preview: North Harrison Cougars vs. Scottsburg Warriors

The North Harrison Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Scottsburg Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scottsburg took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Harrison, who comes in off a win.

North Harrison proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tell City 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted against the Marksmen since May 13, 2017.

Kendall Christie made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gabby White was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Bryn Myrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
