The North Harrison Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Scottsburg Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scottsburg took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Harrison, who comes in off a win.
North Harrison proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tell City 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted against the Marksmen since May 13, 2017.

Kendall Christie made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gabby White was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Bryn Myrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
North Harrison lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Scottsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-3 to Jennings County. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Panthers since on Monday.
Kelsey Pinto- Herrera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
North Harrison has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Scottsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Scottsburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. North Harrison has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Scottsburg, though, as they've been averaging only 2.1 strikeouts. Will North Harrison keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
North Harrison was able to grind out a solid win over Scottsburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
