After flying high against the Mid-Peninsula Dragons last Wednesday, the Latino College Preparatory Academy Golden Eagles came back down to earth. Latino College Preparatory Academy was dealt a 66-38 defeat at the hands of North Valley Baptist on Tuesday. Latino College Preparatory Academy has struggled against North Valley Baptist recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Latino College Preparatory Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luis Araujo, who scored 14 points. Araujo scored a full 36.8% of Latino College Preparatory Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Garcia, who scored 12 points.
North Valley Baptist was led to victory by Dominic (Dom) Lara and Ethan (ELO) Lopez. Lara dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds, while Lopez dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 assists. Another player making a difference was Aiden Woodward, who scored 13 points.
Latino College Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Valley Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Latino College Preparatory Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Granada Islamic School at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valley Baptist will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on El Primero at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
