Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kaitlyn Johnson and Krisalyn Johnson

Sparta Academy lost against Hooper Academy back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sparta Academy Warriors came up short against the Hooper Academy Colts, falling 48-27. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sparta Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Krisalyn Johnson and Kaitlyn Johnson. Krisalyn went 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points and three steals, while Kaitlyn posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That's the most points Krisalyn has posted since back in December of 2023.

Sparta Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Hooper Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Sparta Academy will head out to face off against Crenshaw Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hooper Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Evangel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16, 2025.
