If Jacksonville Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Gramercy Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Addi Cook. The Gramercy Christian Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 victory over the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors on Friday thanks in part to Cook, who went 10 of 19 to rack up 25 points along with seven boards and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Gramercy Christian's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 9-2 (and 3-5 when she doesn't).

Cate Wellspeak was another key player, putting up eight points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Despite the loss, Jacksonville Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Nylah Moore, who went 11 for 20 on her way to 29 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Moore's evening made it 29 games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Paradysz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Gramercy Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gramercy Christian will square off against Community Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Community Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Gramercy Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they will face off against Bethel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jacksonville Christian Academy is facing Bethel Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Bethel Christian Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
