Soccer Game Preview: Gatewood vs. St. George's

The Gatewood Gators will head out on the road to square off against the St. George's Athletes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gatewood's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westminster Christian Academy on Tuesday. Gatewood have struggled against Westminster Christian Academy recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, St. George's kept a clean sheet against Holy Spirit Prep on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cougars 1-0. St. George's winning goal came courtesy of Alison Phillips.

Gatewood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for St. George's, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
