Valley Vista proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the West Point Dragons 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Valley Vista was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Despite the defeat, West Point saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cassie Calderon had ten digs and five aces. With that strong performance, Calderon is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game. Mata Auau also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Valley Vista's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for West Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Valley Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Tolleson on the 27th. As for West Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against South Mountain on the 27th.
