Football Recap: North Johnston Panthers vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils
North Johnston had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by the South Lenoir Blue Devils on the road to the tune of 30-0 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Leading North Johnston to victory were Kaleb Pone and Maleek Farris-Teachey. Pone rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while Farris-Teachey rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
North Johnston will face off against Rosewood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Lenoir, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th.
