Basketball Recap: Labette County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chanute last Friday, Labette County came back down to earth. The Labette County Grizzlies took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Scott Tigers on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Labette County still got an impressive performance from Landry Obrien, who en route to 23 points and four steals. The game was Obrien's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Davis, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Labette County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Labette County's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Fort Scott, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Labette County has already played their next matchup, a 49-29 win against Pittsburg on the 25th. As for Fort Scott, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-31 victory against Field Kindley on the 25th.
