North Quincy lost against Braintree back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Quincy Raiders came up short against the Braintree Wamps, falling 40-20. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mikey Galligan, who threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 80 yards. Another pass catcher making a difference was Marques Rodrigues-Smith, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Having lost for the first time this season, North Quincy fell to 2-1. As for Braintree, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
North Quincy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cohasset at 7:00 p.m. on October 4th. As for Braintree, they will challenge Framingham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Braintree is facing Framingham at the right time seeing as Framingham is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
