Basketball Recap: Jesse Mutombo and Kaden Richardson Secure Win for Chisholm Trail

Chisholm Trail entered their tilt with Martin on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Martin Warriors with a 56-52 victory.

Chisholm Trail was led to victory by Kaden Richardson and Jesse Mutombo. Richardson went 10 for 16 on his way to 26 points, while Mutombo went 6 of 14 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points Richardson has posted since back in November. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Griffin, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Chisholm Trail has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Martin, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Chisholm Trail will be playing in front of their home fans against Fossil Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Martin, they will venture away from home to take on Grand Prairie at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Martin likes a good challenge.
