Basketball Recap: Kotzebue Takes a Loss

Kotzebue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Nome-Beltz Nanooks, falling 81-41. The Huskies lost against the Nanooks in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 64-51 score last time.

Kotzebue's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Nome-Beltz, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Kotzebue and Unalakleet will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Nome-Beltz, they and Susitna Valley will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Nome-Beltz's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
