Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Greeley Central Wildcats

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will face off against the Greeley Central Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mountain View's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

If Mountain View beats Greeley Central with 71 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Mountain View breezed by Northridge to the tune of 71-42 on Friday.

It was another big night for Dylan Garland, who went 15 of 22 on his way to 38 points and three steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Sanchez, who posted nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Greeley Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skyline. The Wildcats were down 54-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Greeley Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Mountain View ended up a good deal behind Greeley Central when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 50-33. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
